Keyhole (poem)

By Luke Labern

Inner peace has been attained -- Winter wind
Keeps the writer inside, forever pinned,
Until the new year lends the mind a chance
To reflect, to prioritise and glance
within. I see my enemies lying,
Their conviction in their beliefs dying.
Justice descends to pull me higher,
Yet my conscience labels me a liar.

Variation in all is quintessential --
(Some should perhaps hold them confidential)
But to destroy those who differ from you
Would only make you your decision rue;
Stay confident that you will prevail,
Walk on your path, let them derail.
For sure-footed steps will take you to the end:
Deliver them peace when you the world mend.

If you wish to discuss my work, or its themes

While I no longer stand by the work itself, the themes remain relevant: the meaning of life, finding purpose, exitalism, philosophical depression, nihilism, and the eessential questions of existence.

I was, and remain, open to discussion and to advice.
